Inaugurated in April 2001 by Scottish hotelier Ken Mcculloch and his formula one business partner David Coulthard, Columbus Monaco has since its opening introduced a concept which seemed controversial in Monaco until then simplicity. Located in Fontvieille near the harbour, Monaco's up and coming area, Columbus Monaco is conveniently located opposite the heliport and only a few minutes away from the Place du Casino. The Riviera chic style of the hotel was conceptualised by Amanda Rosa, who has combined noble materials such as leather, marble, wood and stones to create a chic and comfortable atmosphere. The 181 bedrooms have been decorated to reflect the same elegant style and offer breathtaking views on the Mediterranean sea and the Rocher on one side and the princess grace rose garden and the mountains on the other.
